Faith Formation Classes

This year we are trying something new!

We are offering all-ages Faith Formation directly after the 9:30 am worship. Each week will be hosted by a Ministry Team and will consist of one of four events: a learning event, a service project, transition work, or fellowship. So far we have held a Reformation Fair, a cemetery tour, an Advent craft and multiple service projects, just to name a few. Come on out and see for yourself that Faith Formation is for everyone! Please contact our Faith Formation Director, Karolin Brechbill, for more information.

Youth Group

Youth Group at CLC provides opportunities for students in 7th-12th grade that emphasize three vital components: spiritual growth, volunteerism/service and relationship building. Our events include: MLK Day of Service, Mission Trips, Intergenerational Dinner, Youth Winter Retreat, Youth Sunday, ELCA National Youth Gathering, and fellowship opportunities (sleepovers, bowling, game nights, etc).

You helped make our "Scuba: Diving into Friendship with God" theme an unforgettable underwater adventure filled with fun, faith, and friendship. We’re so grateful for each of you and the waves of joy you brought to this journey.

Special Celebrations for Sunday School Students

First Holy Communion

First Holy Communion instruction is offered to all 5th graders. Instruction is led by Pastor Shelor and Karolin Brechbill and will be scheduled in the spring.

Students receive their First Holy Communion on Holy Thursday at the evening worship service.

Confirmation

Confirmation Classes are held on alternating Sundays, from 12 noon-1:30 pm for youth in 8th and 9th grade. 

The Rite of Confirmation is traditionally celebrated on Pentecost.

CLC’s Safe Place Policy

All volunteers and paid staff associated with children and/or youth of CLC are screened utilizing PA State Police Criminal Background Check and the PA State Child Abuse Background Check. Volunteers and staff are screened before they have interaction with the children, and then once every 60 months as per the PA State Laws, for the duration of their services. Paid staff are required to undergo FBI fingerprint screening as well, within the first month of their employment.
